Hi Everyone!
I cannot believe it's been
nearly a MONTH since
my last post!!!
Let me get you up to speed...
I have been selling, selling, selling like a mad
woman at the little retail store I've
woman at the little retail store I've
been working at for the past 6 weeks.
I thought I'd share what I've learned about retail so far....
I thought I'd share what I've learned about retail so far....
1. People are in such great moods on vacation!
2. Many people who are interested in big, expensive pieces of furniture
can't buy them because they are from another
STATE....
and you don't know that until after the 10 minute pitch on why
they should take it home today:)
3. Drama...enough said....
4. Having my lunch break at dinnertime sitting on a bench by the
Marina is rather peaceful.
5. Gurgle Pots and Buckyballs are very popular.
6. Its not necessarily a bad thing to feel humbled when treated like a
teenager at their first job...at age 45.
7. Commission creates distrust and greed. Being a TEAM player
is where it's at!
8. My husband is Superman! He can cook, clean and take care of
his family like no other (**b.l.e.s.s.e.d.**)
9. My feet could be massaged every. single. night.
10. Working every.single.weekend is just NOT for me.....
With that being said,
I was sooooo happy when the local school district called
me this week to tell me that I'd been approved to be a substitute
(para-educator) for them.
yippee.
I worked in a different school district for 7 years prior to moving last year.
Once you have gotten used to having weekends, Holidays,
and school breaks off it is VERY hard to
give them up.
So... today I gave my notice and my last day
is August 31st!
I must say, however, I will miss the great customers that come
in everyday and make me smile!
In other news...
I sold this french provincial dresser on Craigslist.
I refinished a couple really sweet chairs
that I will take to my booth
White distressed with new gorgeous blue/cream fabric cushions |
this week.
Our house got PAINTED!!!
Hubby and I had a date day a few weeks ago
for his Birthday.
We walked to the Bremerton/Seattle Ferry
for a fun filled afternoon
along the Seattle Waterfront.

Time for his Birthday Lunch (THAT is NOT my husband...ever wonder how many photo's we are in and don't know it?) |
Aww, a feast for the King. Bib and all. Ohhhh, so delish! |
Pike Street Market! So colorful.... |
So interesting! |
So gorgeous. This huge bouquet just for me! Only $10, wow. |
Our daughter (the one I drove with to Pennsylvania in April)
went on a cross country adventure with her friend
this week. They drove from PA to CA in just 4 days!!!
They stopped in AR to visit her gramma and poppa. After
a good nights sleep, hot breakfast, hugs, kisses and fresh cookies,
they headed WEST.
Here she is trying to bring home a souvenir from
the Grand Canyon.
Sorry these are so little, she sent them via cell phone. |
Then they spent the day in Disneyland.
Her friend is staying in CA for school.
She flew home today.
I LOVE that she is so happy in her life!
(and that she is safely tucked into HER bed tonight)
Ummm, our oldest son is still painting houses this summer!
I am amazed at the daring maneuvers he has to do to paint the trim.
He wears a harness. But no sunscreen.
At 21, I guess he is too old for me to tell him he needs sunscreen.
Thankfully, the harness is a job requirement.
He will start his Junior year at WWU soon.
He, too, is very happy and that makes us happy:)
Our 17 year old little guy
(6' 3", 235 pds!)
has been doing 2 a days for football.
Yesterday at practice he was hit so hard

has been doing 2 a days for football.
Yesterday at practice he was hit so hard
that they thought he had a concussion.
During a play he was forced down
onto another player causing that player to have a deep gash in his leg
that required stitches.
That player was one of his best friends.
oops.
Football is not for the faint of heart.
My blood pressure rises every time he is on the field.
The first game is next week!
Time to get out my Royal blue jacket!!
*woot* *woot*
Its humpy season again!
The Salmon are rolling in along the shorelines and
the fishermen are casting out their buzz bombs
hoping for the Mother of all fish.
We enjoyed a delicious Salmon meal just the other night!
Thanks to my dear husband and his buzz bomb.
Well, that should catch you up for now.
I wish I had a fantastic remodel to share, but the truth
is my house is a disaster, there is cat fur floating around,
dishes in the sink and 2 loads of clothes to fold...
and I don't really mind.
I am at home, on a Friday night, and it feels good:)
